m.CD3 (epsilon chain)
The mouse CD3 epsilon (CD3ε) chain is a key signaling component of the T-cell receptor (TCR)–CD3 complex. It is encoded by the Cd3e gene and forms part of the multi-subunit CD3 complex together with the CD3γ, CD3δ, and CD3ζ chains. In association with the TCR, the CD3 complex plays a central role in transmitting signals initiated by antigen recognition.

The CD3ε chain contains an intracellular immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM), which contributes to the initiation of downstream signaling pathways following engagement of the TCR. These signaling events regulate important T-cell functions, including activation, proliferation, cytokine production, differentiation, and effector responses.

Anti-mouse CD3 epsilon chain antibodies specifically recognize the CD3ε subunit and are valuable tools for the detection and characterization of mouse T cells. Depending on the antibody clone and experimental conditions, these antibodies may be used for flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, Western blotting, and other immunological applications. Some anti-CD3ε antibodies can also stimulate T-cell receptor signaling, particularly when the antibody is immobilized or cross-linked, making them useful for in vitro T-cell activation studies.
